Verehrter Herr.

Es liegt mir besonders daran einige unserer schönen Europaeischen Feld u. Wassergewächse &c, die wahrscheinlich hier an passlich gewählten Orten ganz gut gedeihen würden, hier einzuführen nicht nur um sie zur Verzierung der Lagune im botanischen Garten und deren Umgebung zu benutzen, sondern auch um sie in unsern Gebirgsschluchten Sümpfen &c im Freien einzuführen. Ich erlaube mir desshalb Sie zu bitten mir bei passlicher Gelegenheit Samen der unten erwähnten so wie andern ähnlichen Pflanzen einsammeln zu lassen u. mir solche zu übersenden. Gern werde ich Ihnen im Austausch australische Samen dafür übermachen. Unter Andern möchte ich gern , Lychnis flos cuculi , Circaea Lutetiana , , , , , , Pinguicula &c &c sowie eine möglichst vollständige Sammlung von u. erhalten, u. würde Ihnen für Zusendung derselben sehr dankbar sein.

I am particularly anxious to introduce here some of our European field and water plants etc., which would probably thrive quite well here in suitable, selected situations, not only to use them for the beautification of the lake in the botanic Gardens and in its vicinity, but also to introduce them into the open in our mountain valleys and swamps etc. I therefore take the liberty, to ask you to have seeds collected as mentioned below and of other similar plants, as the opportunity presents itself, and to send them to me. I will gladly send you Australian seeds in exchange for them. Among others I should like to obtain , , Convalaria
