Letter not found. The text given here is from a report of the meeting of the Huntly Shire Council on 1 May 1867 (Bendigo advertiser, 2 May 1867, p. 3). The report continued 'The President said that he had waited on Dr Mueller while in Melbourne, and had been received very courteously by him, and informed that if the Council sent a person to receive the plants they would be delivered at once.'
[A letter from Dr Mueller , Botanic Gardens, Melbourne, stated that the plants applied for by the Council could be obtained early in May. Received, and referred to the public works committee.]
