Mueller annonce l'envoi d'un paquet de graines dont l'acclimatation lui paraît utile en Europe: il y a en particulier des graines des et amygdalina qui atteignent une hauteur de 400 à 500 pieds et un diamètre de 10 à 15 et même 25 pieds à la base. L'Eucalyptus rostrata (Gommier rouge) est d'une croissance rapide; il donne un bois presque aussi dur que celui du Mahagony, et qui résiste assez bien aux attaques des tarets.]
