On 5 March 1867, the Commissioner of Crown Lands and Survey, James Grant, wrote to McCulloch, the Chief Secretary, asking for plants for various reserves. This was the letter referred to M on 8 March.
M returned the letter to the Chief Secretary's office on 12 March. It was forwarded
to the Crown Lands office on 15 March minuted: 'for info of'. The letter was returned to the Chief Secretary's office on 22 March and sent back to the Crown Lands office on 25 March minuted: 'for information of President'. (Grant was officially designated 'President of the Board of Land and Works and Commissioner
of Crown Lands and Survey'.)
