Town Clerk's Office
Town Hall, Melbourne
27th February 1867
Sir
Referring to the inroads of cattle into the northern Botanical Gardens reserve from
the Yarra Park in which it is contained and to the fencing placed to prevent such
inroads,
I am by direction of the Health Committee of the Council of the City of Melbourne
to point out that the fencing near the foot of the Botanical Gardens Bridge where
such fencing extends into the river could with very slight trouble and expense be
secured and fixed so that cattle would not wade or swim round it and I am to suggest
that that expedient may be adopted.
1
See M to E. FitzGibbon, 14 February 1867.
2
See W. Smith to M, 1 April 1867.
I have the honor to be
Sir
Your most obedient servant
E. G. FitzGibbon
Town Clerk
Dr F. Mueller F.R.S.
