Sir Henry.
I have the honor of submitting to your Excellency some further information received
within the last days in reference to the progress of the operations for the search
after Dr Leichhardt. The spirited young Gentleman, who now commands the expedition,
is likely to advance under the favor of cool weather for the next 6 or 7 months widely
through the Western Interior, and we may look forward with hopeful interest to the
results of his mission.

W. F. Barnett; see notes to M to F. Barlee, 23 February 1867 (in this edition as 67-02-23a).
It devolves on me also to remark to your Excellency, that the Lady-President of the
Leichhardt Search Committee
has adressed her words of thanks to her Majesty, for fostering so condescendingly
the enterprise, through Lady Murchison, the generous gift of the Queen having been
received through Sir Roderick Murchison, Bart, K.C.B.

Ferd. Mueller.
