Sir Henry
The friendly interest evinced by your Excellency in my experiments to produce paper from raw material extensively available in Australia induces me to submit to your Excellency a few additional kinds prepared in my laboratory very recently.

See also M to H. Manners-Sutton, 15 December 1866 (in this edition as 66-12-15a).
The admirable paper made of the leaves of Grass-trees (Xanthorrhoea) proves, that also the other Colonies and especially West Australia, where these remarkable plants abound, may take advantage of the results of my experiments, like other colonies, which will profit from the information now obtained on these new resources.
I have the honor to be, Sir Henry,
your most obedient & regardful
Ferd. Mueller
His Excellency
the Honorable Sir Henry Manners-Sutton, K.C.B.,
Governor of Victoria
