Sir
In reply to your letter, dated 18 Dec,
I have the honor to inform you, that I have secured a copy of the National Dictionary
for my establishment by private purchase. But having received no answer to my letter
of the 16 Nov.,
in which I pointed out that no fund whatever was left available for the incidental
expenditure during the latter part of the year, I once more solicit from the honor.
the Chief Secretary, that the sum of fourty pounds Sterling (£40.- .-) may be placed
on the supplementary estimates, in order that the outlays which I have now for many
weeks have been forced to make for the establishment may next year be refunded.
