MS is annotated 'No 44' of 74 receipts covering materials supplied for the Intercolonial
Exhibition of Australasia, Melbourne, 1866-7, for which M was one of the Commissioners.
Received from Dr F. Mueller one pound seven shillings for eighteen days labor, at
1/6 pr day assisting carpenter in planing wood specimens for the Exhibition

The low rate of pay indicates that Petersen was a junior, probably a son of the carpenter
Henry Petersen who was preparing timber specimens for the Exhibition; see H. Petersen
to M, 1 October 1866 (in this edition as 66-10-01a), and M's reference, some years later, to Henry Petersen's having children who were
by then adults (M to J. McCulloch, 3 October 1870).
