The Comte de Beauvoir
1
Beauvoir arrived in Melbourne on 8 July 1866 ('The Prince de Joinville', Argus, 9 July 1866, p. 5). Beauvoir (1870) contains a somewhat fanciful account of M and his activities; see M to W. H. Archer, 12 February 1875 and notes thereto.
having expressed a desire to possess some of the botanical works published by Government I have the honor of submitting this requisition for the favorable consideration of the hon. the Chief Secretary.
2
M's requisition was approved and forwarded to the Government Printer; it is not known what works were given to Beauvoir.
