I enclose a copy of a Letter received from the Public Works officer,
intimating that Departments are expected to exercise due supervision over the Government's
Buildings which they occupy either for offices or for other purposes; and that they
will be held responsible for taking proper precautions against allowing such buildings
to fall into a state of disrepair. The Chief Secretary desires that Mr Wardell's letter
shall be entered in the records of your office.
