I have the honor by direction of the Chief Secretary to request that you will be good enough to furnish this Department, at as early a date as possible with the undermentioned Return for the purpose of being laid before the Legislative Assembly in compliance with an order on the motion of Mr McCann
(Sd) J. Moore
"A Return showing the names of the persons employed at this date at the Melbourne Botanical Gardens, the nature of their employment and their rate of wages."
