To the honorable the President of the Board for Land & Works &c &c
Sir
I have the honor to transmit to you a copy of regulations framed for the preservation of order and property at the Royal Park and beg to solicit on behalf of the trustees, that you will be pleased to take these proposed rules into favorable consideration and if approving of them to give legality to them by the Board of Land & Works.

The file was minuted by C. Hodgkinson on 27 January 1866: 'Recommended that the formal approval of the Bd under seal be endorsed on the proposed regulations'. The file was duly stamped 'Approved by the Board of Land and Works' on 7 February 1866. There is also a reminder on the same day by the secretary, J. Lewis, that the regulations needed to be published in the Government Gazette; this was done in Victoria. Government gazette, 13 February 1866, p. 38. For the approved regulations, see notes to [A. Morrah] to M, 8 February 1866; there is no copy with the present file, but there is with the copy of the letter in the Trustees' letter-book.
I have the honor to be,
Sir,
your most obedient and humble
Ferd. Mueller, M.D., Hon. Secr. to the trustees of the Royal Park
