Letter not found. The text given here is from 'Original correspondence', Ovens and Murray advertiser, 10 February 1866, p. 3 (B66.02.04). A letter to the Editor from G. Milner Stephen, was used to introduce M's letter. Stephen wrote ' I shall feel obliged by your giving publicity to the enclosed letter, recently received by me from Dr Muller, F.R.S., the distinguished botanist; as I wish to ask the miners of this district to save such colored stones as they may find in "washing up" their gold. …'. Stephen exhibited four cases of mineralogical specimens at the Intercolonial Exhibition in Melbourne ((Intercolonial Exhibition of Australasia (1867), p. 50).
