Melbourne bot. Garden
1/12/65
Very much do I regret, dear Sir George, that I have it not in my power send at once under the excellent Colonel G[o]rton's surveillance any Cereopsides Novae Hollandiae.
1
Cereopsis novaehollandiae [Cape Barren Goose].
I have not one on my Gardenlake nor could I obtain any in the market. The request of your Excellency shall be brought under the notice of the Acclim Society.
I feel very great pleasure in sending by the Albion a box with all the Mesembryanthema this garden possesses together with some other succulent plants, 31 kinds in all. It will afford me much gratification to send your Excellency any thing, plants or animals, from hence whether in my private or public capacity within my reach.
Should with great ease still some more seeds of be available, such as you were so kind to forward, I will not fail to appreciate them.
2
See M to G. Grey, 27 November 1865.
With profound regards
Ferd. Mueller
