Early September 1865 is the latest likely date for M to have written to Sonder and the letter is dated accordingly.

[Vor einigen Tagen habe ich per Eisenbahn eine Kiste an Sie befördert, worin Pflanzen und Bücher von Sendungen des Herrn Dr. Ferd. Müller. Letzterer schreibt mir, dass es ihm sehr erwünscht sein werde, wenn Sie ihm einige Bände der Linnaea dagegen geben möchten.]

Sonder's letter to Schlechtendal concludes 'Ich befördere mit Ende dieses Monats eine Kiste nach Melbourne und kann ein Packet beilegen, wenn Sie mir solches bis zum 25ten zusenden können' [I am sending a box to Melbourne at the end of this month and can enclose a package if you can send it to me by the 25th].
