Ich sende Ihnen ein paar Notizen die Ihnen für Ihr Journal interessant sein möchten, dann auch durch das Marine Ministerium von Östreich

Österreich.

das Journal von M'Donald u. den letzten Band der Verhandlungen unserer königl. Gesellschaft. Es ist überaus gütig von Ihrem Ministerium, meinem Freunde Dr Sonder, einen zweiten Orden für mich übersandt zu haben. Da inzwischen der erste anlangte, werde ich nicht verfehlen Ihnen das 2 Kreuz wieder sicher u. schnell zurückzusenden.

Ich war recht erfreut zu vernehmen, dass Sie der Aufsuchung Leichhardt's eine so dauernde lebhafte Theilnahme schenken, wie ich aus dem jüngst gesandten Blatte ersehe. Ich hoffe aber auch, dass das Unternehmen von schönem Erfolg gekrönt werden wird. Ihre Notizen lege ich stets vor das Committee, an dem sich 2 deutsche Damen befinden sowie auch eine englische Dame, die deutsch liest.

diary and the last volume of the Transactions of the Royal Society of Victoria. It is extremely kind of your Ministry to have sent a second Order for me to my friend Dr Sonder. As the first has meanwhile arrived, I shall not fail to return the second Cross to you safely and quickly.

The Knight's Cross II Class of the Ernestine House Order, bestowed on M by Duke Ernst II. of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha on 5 January 1865. M received the certificate but not the Order and it was feared lost; it did, however, arrive two months later; see M to A. Petermann, 25 March 1865. M duly returned the replacement Order to the Ministry of State in Gotha (Sonder to the Herzögliche Sächsische Staatsministerium, 11 December 1865; Dep. C, Loc. J, Tit. 6, Nr 68, Bl.138, Thüringisches Staatsarchiv, Gotha).

I was very pleased to hear that you maintain such continued active sympathy for the search for Leichhardt, as I see from the latest issue of your journal sent to me.

Petermann (1865). This item appeared in the issue of Petermann’s journal that closed on 19 June 1865.

But I now do hope, that the enterprise will be crowned with good success. I always place your notes before the Committee,

The Ladies' Leichhardt Search Committee.

it includes 2 German ladies as well as an English lady who reads German.

The two German ladies were Rebecca Nordt and Marie Bunny.
