I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of a package of plants transmitted by last mail through the order of his Excellency the Governor of West Australia for my examination. I shall not fail to report on the results of my enquiry whenever closed.

Consignments of supposed poisonous plants had been sent to M for examination earl y in 1865 (F. Barlee to M, 20 March 1865 ) , and additional specimens from newly explored areas were sent in May (F. Barlee to M, 19 May 1665 (in this edition as 65-05-19b) ) , which may be package referred to here . N o other similar consignment notice has been found for 1865.
Should any new maps of districts of West Australia be published, I should feel grateful for a copy for transmission to the great Geographer Prof. Dr August Petermann of Gotha.
