Sir
I have the honor to inform you that at the meeting of the Council of the Acclimatisation
Society held yesterday Mr Haines laid your letter addressed to him as well as the
copy of Mr McIntyre's letter
enclosed to Dr Black
before the Council. After discussing the matter for some time the Council directed
me to inform you that they thought it better to postpone any definite action in the
matter until a future meeting of the Council.
