In reference to the request contained in your letter of the 26th June last,
addressed to H E. Governor Hampton, to be furnished with such specimens of the poison
plants of this Colony as would enable you to experiment on them, I have much pleasure,
by direction of His Excellency, in forwarding to your address three specimens of these
plants,
which have been collected expressly for the object you have in view, and which are
known here as the Rock Poison Plant, York road Poison Plant, and the Box Poison Plant.
