I am asked, dear Mr Mayor, to ascertain, whether the Ladies of the Leichhardt-Committee could enjoy the privilege to meet at one of the rooms of the town hall once a week.

Could you favor me with an answer before Wednesday, when the Ladies assemble again.

The Mayor was George Wragge. E. FitzGibbon to M, 7 March 1865, reported that the Mayor agreed to the request.
