Letter not found. The text given here is from 'Foreign correspondence', Gardeners' chronicle and agricultural gazette, 11 March 1865, p. 222 (B65.03.01). The correspondent is inferred to be Lindley, the editor of the journal, based on the reference to his orchid volume. It is dated to January 1865 as the latest likely date that it could have been sent to be published in this issue.

I have it from the Tenteburger Wald, that historically classical spot; and I have it also from various places in Switzerland. I send you the only specimen I ever found in Holstein, where it is exceedingly rare.
