Dear Sir,—
I have compared specimens of in the collection of the museum of the garden, and find no characteristic by which they could be specially recognised from B. unioloides, the now commonly cultivated so-called prairie grass.

The Editor commented below the letter: 'This note, with which we have been favoured by the first authority on the subject (Dr. Mueller), seems to settle the question of the identity of the so-called and the prairie grass. Ed'
M was probably commenting on 'The Schrader Brome', a long article in the previous issue of the Australasian, 5 November 1864, p. 4.
