Dear Sir,
I shall be obliged by your informing me the botanical name of the tree of the foliage
of which the enclosed is a specimen.
It is found near the gullies at the head of the Acheron river,
and is described to me as a beautiful tree, attaining a considerable size, the stem
being in some instances about two feet in diameter.

Specimen not found, but M identified it as the Australian beech,
