I have the honor to inform you, that at a Meeting of the Trustees of the Royal Park held this day, the following gentlemen present, Dr. Black,

W. Wardell Esq, C. Hodgkinson Esq. R.B. Smyth Esq & T. Sumner Esq, it was resolved,
"that the honorary Secretary should be instructed to adress the honorable the Chief Secretary, praying that the sum of five hundred pounds (£500.0.0) be placed upon the Estimates for 1865, to be applied by the Trustees of the Royal Park in needful repairs maintenance & improvements to the said Park."
In accordance with the request of the Trustees, conveyed to me by T. Sumner Esq., who kindly acted on that occasion as hon. Secretary, I beg to solicit for the resolution of the Trustees your favorable consideration.

At a meeting of the Trustees of the Royal Park on 21 October, M tabled a letter the Board of Land and Works had sent to the Acclimatisation Society of Victoria in reply to an application for £800 towards park improvement. M was directed to inform the Council of the Acclimatisation Society of the resolution passed by the Trustees at the meeting of 14 October to apply to the Chief Secretary for £500 for improvements to the Park [i.e., this letter]. See M to G. Sprigg, 21 October 1864.
At a meeting of the Trustees on 3 March 1865 it was decided to send a deputation to the Chief Secretary since no reply to this letter had been received (A345 Royal Park Trustees minute book, p. 141).
