I have the honor by direction of the Trustees of the Melbourne General Cemetery to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 21st ult.

At the same time I am directed to convey to you their best thanks for the very valuable and numerous selection of pines lately received at the Cemetery from you.

The gardener's report was read at a meeting of the Trustees on 7 August 1864, 'stating the operations for the past month and that 1000 valuable pines had been received from Dr Mueller' (Minute book 1, Melbourne General Cemetery).
I am also directed to inform you that the Board has given instructions that you are at all time to be supplied with any plants from the Cemetery plot you may desire
