[Dr. Ferd Mueller, of the Botanic Garden, Melbourne, writes to the effect that he "would be glad to receive fresh, well-ripened, carefully dried and packed Pine seeds of any sorts, in exchange for Australian seeds, from any European garden, in quantity". Dr. Mueller' s object is to establish the different species of Firs from various parts of the globe in masses, with the view to their final naturalisation in Australian forests.]
