Sir
I have the honor to bring under your notice, that the footpath of the domain-Street
(South-Yarra), especially on that part opposite Millswyn-Street, is at present in
an impassable state, in consequence of the water from Punt-hill becoming stagnant
at the spot indicated. It would merely need the deepening of the channel to allow
the water to flow off and this could be effected by a very inconsiderable outlay.
I thought it proper to bring this circumstance, which causes much inconvenience to
the inhabitants of South-Yarra under your favorable consideration, in as much as the
ground under my control is closely adjacent to the innundated locality.

Domain Road?
Sands & McDougall's Melbourne and suburban directory, 1864,
p. 164, lists no junction of Millswyn Street with Domain Street but with Domain Road as a T-junction. Domain Street intersects Domain Road two blocks to the west of Millswyn Street.
