which with its enclosures reached me two days ago. Altho' her Majestys Government was unable under existing regulations to grant my accepting the honors intended for me from three Sovereigns I feel grateful for the extremely kind action which his Excellency was pleased to take on my behalf and the sympathy shown to me by the Governor on this occasion.
