Melbourne botanic Garden,
26/5/64
Sir
In acknowledgement of your letter of 25 May
I have the honor to assure the trustees of the General Cemetry that I shall always
feel a pleasure in contributing from my department any available plants for the ground
on which so many that have been dear to us have found a resting place.
1
If any ground should be prepared for the reception of pines in the beginning of August
I could supply you many hundred seedlings previously transplanted and then one year
old of various South European firs.
2
MS annotation by Purchas: 'Recd May 28th'. At a meeting of the Trustees on 14 June,
M's letter was read and his offer was accepted with thanks (Minute book 1).
I have the honor to be,
Sir,
your most obedient & humble servant
Ferd. Mueller
A. Purchas Esq.
