At a meeting of the Trustees on 10 May 1864, the gardener's report was read stating
'that a quantity of valuable plants had been received from Dr Mueller' (Minute book
1).

I have the honor by direction of the Trustees of the Melbourne General Cemetery, to
return you their best thanks for the very valuable plants and shrubs which they received from the Botanical Gardens early in the present month.
