MS found with a specimen of Cyathea australis (MEL 2148696). While the letter is incomplete and lacks a signaure, the hand is Moore’s.

Dear Dr Mueller
By my friend Mr John Reid the bearer who is my partner in a sheep station on the Barcoo
I send you a few specimens of the Alsophila which I found on the Bellinger
& which I consider to be quite distinct and undescribed. I find in my herbarium specimens
of the same plant from the Logan river
collected there by Mr W. Hill In appearance this plant bears a strong resemblance
to
but differs in the following respect
