Letter not found. The text given here is from Maiden (1908), p. 107. The text is from a list of letters from Dallachy that Maiden reported having seen.
[ Rockingham Bay, 15th March, 1864. In the latter letter he stated that he went with Messrs. Dalrymple, Scott, and Kennedy as far as the Herbert River.

The party organized by the company Scott, Dalrymple and Co. that explored the region with official backing in 1864 to open up new districts for settlement. A letter about the journey by one of Dallachy's companions, Arthur Scott, was later published; see A. Scott (1865). Dallachy settled at the new township of Cardwell on Rockingham Bay that was founded by Dalrymple (ADB).
