SIR,
I have the honor to invite you to the Anniversary Meeting of the Royal Society, to
be held on Monday, 7th March, 1864, at Half-past Seven o'clock p.m., in the Royal
Society's Hall, for the purpose of Electing the Office-Bearers of the Society for
the ensuing year, in accordance with Rule VIII.
The offices then vacant are those of the President, two Vice-Presidents, Treasurer,
Librarian, Custos of the Collections, six Ordinary Members of Council, and Secretary.
I beg further to inform you, that in the event of your being desirous to propose or
second any gentleman for election, it will be necessary (in compliance with Rule XI.)
that the name of the candidate should be posted at the Hall, by the proposer and seconder,
one clear week before the Anniversary Meeting. In order to afford facilities for this
purpose, a list of the actual Members of the Society will be accessible at the Hall,
and the building will be held open during the needful period, every afternoon, from
Three till Five o'clock.
