Dear Sir
I am obliged for the promptness with which you forwarded to me Dr Lhotzkys little book.
1
MS inserted in a copy of J. Lhotsky, Journey to the Australian Alps, 1835. This copy is inscribed by Wise as belonging to him.
I have glanced through it, but if it containes at all any thing of importance regarding the Australian Alps it must be in that portion, which is wanting in your copy . It would however appear, that it was Lhotzky who named or first made known the Snowy River.
I shall feel greatly obliged for any contributions towards the knowledge of the language of our aborigines & see it properly turned to account & acknowledged.
With kind regards
yr
Ferd. Mueller
