[Dr. Mueller, by a letter of the same date,
renews his thanks for the donations offered to Australia by our Society, expresses
his regret at having learned that several animals sent to us in return had perished
on the way, and recalls that, by the
Prince of Wales
, he has sent two Cranes, three Parrots, and one
Petaurus
;
finally he announces that the
Sussex
, which is due to leave in December, will bring some Rails and probably some other
birds.]

The summary of M's letter is preceded by one of a letter from Dr Thomas Black dated
25 November that announced two new consignments of animals for the French society,
and that the flock of Angora goats remained in good health.
