Melbourne bot. Garden,
19. Sept. 1863.
Sir
I have the honor of submitting a letter from my assistant,
in whose sentiments I fully concur & having on various occasions remonstrated against
the bathing at the bot. Gardens landing place unsuccessfully, I trust you will kindly
aid me by your official influence in suppressing an evil, to which I see no cessation
except by the positive prohibition of bathing at any hour at any place on the river
except the locality specially selected at the bathing house.
