I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of this day's date apprising me that a tree near the bathing house on the bank of the Yarra has been destroyed by the stripping of its bark.
I have to thank you for this communication and to inform you that I shall take immediate steps for discovering if possible the perpetrator of the mischief and for the prevention of future damage of the same kind.
