Melbourne bot. Garden
6/8/63.
Sir
I have the honor to inform you, that a tree near the bathing house of the Yarra has been recently stripped of a large portion of its bark, whereby the destruction of the tree is caused. As but very few trees are left on the Yarra banks and these should as far as possible be protected I thought it my duty to bring the above fact under your notice
I have the honor to be,
Sir,
your most obedient servant
Ferd. Mueller
The townclerk,
Melbourne
