My dear Doctor
In answer to your numerous letters
I beg to reply that at present there is not any thing at the Park suitable for sending
to Bourbon,
altho' it is very probable that Mr Fletcher
may bring up some kangaroos from Phillip Island before long and in that case they
might be sent.

i.e. Réunion. M was no doubt seeking to send suitable Australian species of plants and animals to the Société d'Acclimatation et d'Histoire Naturelle de l'Île de Réunion, of which he had been elected a member in the previous year.

Professor Halford's name shall be put down and I am equally pleased with you at the
accession to our members of this gentleman. Captain Reynell of the "Yorkshire" has
consented to take some kangaroos but does not wish anything else to go this voyage.
We shall be very happy to take charge of the dingo at the Park.
