Sir,
I have the honor, by direction of the Trustees of the Melbourne General Cemetery,
to convey to you the best thanks of the Board for your kindness in visiting the Cemetery
at their request, also for the very valuable selection of plants which have been received
from the Botanic Gardens during the past two months.

At a meeting of the Trustees of the Melbourne Cemetery on 2 June 1863, 'The Gardener's report was read stating ... that he had received a large quantity
of plants from Dr Mueller' (Minute book 1, item 14, Melbourne General Cemetery). At
a meeting on 7 July, 'Read the Gardener's report stating ... that 250 more plants had been received from
Dr Mueller ... . Resolved that a letter be written to Dr Mueller acknowledging the
receipt of the plants, and thanking him for the same.' (Minute book 1, items 2 & 3,
Melbourne General Cemetery).
