Minute secretary's error? Both the procès-verbaux of the Council of the Société Impériale Zoologique d'Acclimatation, Paris (Bulletin de la Société Impériale Zoologique d'Acclimatation, 1863, p. 569) and the Gazette national ou le Moniteur universel, 13 August 1863, p. 2, reported that tortoises had been sent to the Jardin d'acclimatation in Paris.
