My dear Sir William.
Our mutual friend, the Rev. Mr Ewing of Tasmania has kindly offered to convey to you
a small consignment & so I have chosen a parcel of
, gathered in W Australia in a wild state. It occurs to me as desirable, that this
vegetable poison should be subjected to careful chemical analysis and as you are,
for Prof. Harvey's sake in constant communication with Dr W. Sonder, the latter Gentleman
would, I have no doubt, afford the means of seeing this sample carefully transmitted
for analysis to Prof. Dr Wittstein of Munich.
