one case with plants intended for consultation at Kew. I have asked his Excellency Sir H. Barkly to send all his Guiana & Jamaica ferns to you & the Governor complied at once with my request; so that the collection is going in the same box. I beg to submit all my normal collections of ferns also for your use. His Excellency wishes you to retain his plants until he can personally receive them again from you. It is almost unneccessary to repeat, that any duplicates of the ferns may be retained for the Kew hebarium.
Will you kindly let one of your assistants first arrange the ferns, as there are unadded supplemental fascicles with them. Indeed I had no time to arrange the whole properly.
