No botanical genus named for Drouyn de Lhuys has been found. The summary of the letter may have misinterpreted M's intent: M named a species Podocarpus drouynianus (64.02.01, p. 86 and t. XXXI) with the following dedication:
Speciem viro illustri et excellenti Drouyn de Lhuys, Imperii Gallici summo Ministro, Instituti membro, Imperialis Societatis Acclimationis Praesidi, in summae observantiae publicam tesseram exilem quidem sed perpetuam dicavi.’ [I have dedicated the species to the illustrious and distinguished Drouyn de Lhuys, senior minister of the French Empire, Member of the Institute, President of the Imperial Acclimatisation Society, with greatest respect, a public token, meagre indeed but lasting.]
