The Council are sorry to hear your opinion about the removal of the deer after waiting all these months at your suggestion but they still think the difficulty can be got over and they propose when Fletcher

Robert Fletcher (fl. 1861-8) was gamekeeper to the Acclimatisation Society c.1863-4. He was appointed 'trapper' to the Society in 1861 .
is in town committing the job into his hands counting upon your valuable assistance as far as possible.
The Council gladly accept your offer of any plants & seeds from the Botanic Gardens suited to the Royal Park, so impressed were they with the necessity of finishing the Horticultural portion of their labours that they have engaged Mr Mitchell to superintend that branch of their labours, and under his direction preparations are now being made for the planting season.

There is no signature on the file copy but, given the potentially sensitive nature of the subject-matter, it would probably have been Black who signed rather than the secretary, George Sprigg, who normally wrote.
