Requisition.

A pair of Russian guns, captured by the British in 1854, during the Crimean War, and
given by the British Government to Victoria. Erected in a prominent position in the
Botanic Garden in 1858, they were relocated in 1867 to their present site outside
Victoria Barracks in St Kilda Road, Melbourne (Pescott (1982), pp. 61-2).
