For reply see M to C. Hodgkinson, 25 February 1863.
Sir,
I have the honor to request that you will be so good as to inform me what plants can
be supplied from the Botanical Gardens during the current year for the Parks and Gardens
under the control of the Board of Land and Works.
I may mention that in consequence of the excessive drought in the early part of this
summer nearly all the pines planted in the South Park and Flagstaff Hill Reserves
perished, and a large number of pines will be therefore required.
The plants that can be supplied will be taken during the months of May and June next.
I have the honor to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient Servant
C. Hodgkinson
Assist. Commr of Lands & Survey.
