This exhibition was held on 28 February 1863. The press reported: 'But for a large contribution by Dr Mueller of ferns and other plants from the adjoining conservatories, and some novelties of the seedsmen, to be noticed presently, the show would have been but an insignificant affair' (Age, 2 March 1863, p. 7).
