My dear Sir William.

I have much pleasure in announcing to you, that I have arranged for the shipment of a case of to you pr. "Result"

M's notebook recording despatch of plants to Kew for Flora australiensis (RB MSS M44, Library, Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne) indicates that the (case No. 9) were carried not on Result but on Suffolk, which sailed on 20 January 1863. See also M to W. Hooker, 23 January 1863, and M to G. Bentham, 24 January 1863.

Bill of loading will be transmitted to you by the Ship, simultaneously with this note, and a duplicate by the overland mail, by which I shall communicate more fully.
